According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski the Thunder have reached agreement on a new contract with free agent backup center Nerlens Noel. Noel had declined a $1.9 million player option on Friday to return to OKC but he had said many times how much he liked the organization and how it treated players.

Noel had a bounce back season with Oklahoma City averaging 4.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game after falling all the way out of the rotation in Dallas just the season before.

Terms of the new deal aren’t known yet and nothing can be signed until Saturday at 11am Oklahoma time but this is something the Thunder hoped to get done quickly and painlessly and looks like that’s happened.
