Well it's official now...the Thunder have indeed traded the man Sam Presti calls "the most important player in the brief history of the Thunder," Russell Westbrook is now a Houston Rocket.
Chris Paul, who began his career in OKC when the New Orleans Hornets moved here for two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, is now back, though he could be traded before he ever puts on a Thunder uniform.
The team made the official announcement of the deal Tuesday evening after word broke of the trade on Thursday night.
In it's official release Thunder GM Sam Presti and team chairman Clay Bennett praised Westbrook, with Bennett saying Russ will be honored for his time in OKC. Presti also talked about Chris Paul.
