After starting practice on Thursday the OSU Cowboys put on pads for the first time Saturday and got after each other a little bit.

"It's always enjoyable to get out there and let the guys play real football," head coach Mike Gundy told reporters during his media day news conference. "We had a long practice and the effort is good. The enthusiasm is good, which is typical for this time of year."

After practice the team met with fans, signing autographs and posing for photos. Quarterbacks Spencer Sanders and Dru Brown sat right next to each other and that's exactly where they are on the Cowboys depth chart.

"There aren't really any changes personnel wise" Gundy said. The QB competition remains dead even. "We've asked them to compete and prepare and be good leaders and develop a working relationship. Sean (Gleeson) is an interesting person. He's a really nice guy and all that, but he's got a little bit of a dog fight in him. He wants those guys to really compete."

And so they are and right now if the season was starting "we might play two," quaterbacks, Gundy said. "If you were at practice today, you would say play two. They're both pretty good."
