STILLWATER - Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy told reporters during his first media luncheon of the season he and his staff have a plan in place to play both quarterbacks Dru Brown and Spencer Sanders in next week's opener at Oregon State.

"It's not something that I'm gonna discuss publicly at this time," but Gundy said he and the staff are "comfortable" with how things will work.

The Cowboys depth chart lists Dru Brown or Spencer Sanders as the starter at QB, Brown's name listed first because he's a redshirt senior and Sanders is just a redshirt freshman but Brown may very well take the first snap in Corvallis. Beyond that, who knows.

Brown is not as athletic as Sanders but he has more than two dozen starts as a quarterback in major college football. When it comes to executing the play that's called coaches say Brown is excellent.

But those coaches, including associate head coach Kasey Dunn, say when a play breaks down and you have to "turn chicken you know something, into chicken salad" Sanders is the guy who excels at that.

Gundy also said Friday coaches will play at least six freshman regularly and several more could play the allotted four games.
