Thunder general manager Sam Presti spent an hour talking with reporters Thursday about a wide range of topics and saying he's "excited" for the future of the team.
“We've got a really interesting mix of not just new players and returning players but also veteran players and young players,” Presti added. “I'm excited and I think everybody is excited to watch and see how the team comes together through the year. I think this team has a significant amount of discovery within it in terms of just learning about the new players that we have and how they fit with the existing group.”
Chris Paul is front and center when it comes to that. Presti wouldn't speculate about all the trade chatter involving CP3 but said he's "in incredible shape" and believes he's "going to have a really, really good year."
He also denied Clippers coach Doc Rivers speculation that OKC was already moving into rebuilding mode before the trades of Paul George and Russell Westbrook. Presti said Andre Roberson is ready to go for training camp and should be able to play in preseason games but the team will ease him back into things.
