LaMarcus Aldridge has been a Thunder killer since his days with the Portland Trail Blazers and continued to cement that reputation last night in San Antonio.
The Spurs big man scored 39 points on 19-of-23 shooting to help San Antonio to a 121-112 win over the Thunder. OKC came into the game playing well and leading the NBA in both field goal shooting defense and 3-point defense, the Spurs came in having lost three of their last four games.
The Thunder defense struggled most of the night, allowing the Spurs to shoot 54.3% overall and 45% from beyond the arc. Through their first seven games the Thunder had been holding teams to just 40.3% shooting overall and 27.3% from deep.
Oklahoma City was led by Danilo Gallinari who hit five 3s on the way to 27 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 21 and Chris Paul dropped in 19.
