The Oklahoma State Cowboys signed 18 players from eight states on Wednesday and for what's believed to be the first time ever, the Cowboys signed more players from Oklahoma (six) than Texas (four).

The Cowboys highest rated prospect is Norco, California 4-star quarterback Shane Illingworth a 6-6, 240 pound pro-style QB.

The group includes nine players from the offensive side, eight on defense and one who is designated as an athlete.

Of the nine offensive players, four are linemen and five are skill players, including Oklahoma's Gatorade Player of the Year Bixby wide receiver Brennan Presley. The defensive side of the ball features two linemen, three linebackers, two cornerbacks and a safety.

Late in the day the Cowboys also got the signature of another quarterback, 3-star prospect Nolan McLean of Garner, North Carolina. McLean's scholarship though will be thorough the baseball program. He's an outstanding starting pitcher who also hit .379 with nine homeruns this past season.

McLean would like to play both sports at OSU but there's a chance he won't play either for the Cowboys. He is expected to be a high pick in the April Major League Baseball draft.
