The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 119-103 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday (April 2). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 33 points, while Jalen Williams added 23 points and Chet Holmgren contributed 22 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks.
The Thunder, who now hold a 64-12 record, have a three-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the race for the league’s best record and homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs. Lu Dort's tip-in at the halftime buzzer gave Oklahoma City a 65-59 lead, and they opened the second half with a 10-0 run. Despite a late push from Detroit, Oklahoma City maintained control to secure the win.
The Pistons were without All-Star guard Cade Cunningham due to a bruised left calf and three other players due to suspensions from an altercation with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tim Hardaway Jr. led Detroit with 23 points.
Oklahoma City boasts a 29-1 record against Eastern Conference opponents this season, the best in league history against an opposing conference. The Thunder will next face the Houston Rockets on Friday.
