Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richarson is once again dealing with a shoulder injury that will rule him out of minicamp next week, the team announced in a post shared on its X account Thursday (June 5).

"Per Shane Steichen - QB Anthony Richardson is dealing with a shoulder injury and will not participate in mini-camp next week," the Colts wrote.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said the injury is to "the same AC joint" that "he injured last season" and confirmed that veteran quarterback Daniel Jones "is set for more reps" during minicamp amid Richardson's absence.

The third-year quarterback sustained the injury during OTAs last week, according to head coach Shane Steichen.

"Doctors, trainers checked it out," Steichen said via NFL.com. "He's got some aggravation in his AC joint. So we're gonna sit him out this week. Obviously, he'll sit out for minicamp. We'll see when he comes back. Not gonna put a timetable for training camp on it, but when he does come back, we'll ease him into throwing, and then we'll go from there. The good thing is he's not gonna need a procedure right now."

ESPN reporter Stephen Holder reported that Richardson "just reported some soreness and the prescription for right now is rest" in a post shared on his X account.

Richardson, the No. 4 pick, has dealt with injuries throughout his first two seasons, having been limited to just four games during his rookie season before undergoing season-ending surgery and was limited by an oblique injury that ruled him out for two games before briefly being benched for veteran Joe Flacco. The former Florida Gators quarterback has gone 6-5 in 11 starts, having thrown for 1,814 yards, eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 176 of 348 passing, while also recording 635 yards 10 touchdowns on 111 rushing attempts.
