The Tulsa Golden Hurricane secured a historic victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, winning 19-12 on Friday night in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This marks Tulsa's first win against Oklahoma State since 1998 and their first victory in Stillwater since 1951. Redshirt freshman Baylor Hayes led Tulsa with 219 passing yards and a touchdown, while Seth Morgan contributed four field goals to the win.

Former Oklahoma State running back Dominic Richardson played a crucial role for Tulsa, rushing for 146 yards on 31 carries. Tulsa's defense held Oklahoma State to just three points in the first half, establishing a 16-3 lead by halftime. According to ESPN, Tulsa coach Tre Lamb expressed pride in the win, stating, "That's a huge win for our program, that's a statement win for me and our staff."

Oklahoma State, now 1-2, struggled to find momentum despite a rally led by quarterback Zane Flores, who threw for 214 yards and rushed for 56. The Cowboys managed to cut the deficit to 19-12 with a field goal by Logan Ward late in the fourth quarter, but Tulsa's defense held firm. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy acknowledged Tulsa's strong performance, saying, "I thought their quarterback played really well."

Tulsa will host Tulane on September 27, while Oklahoma State will face Baylor at home the same day.
