Gundy Says Sooners Are "A Wishbone Team"

OSU coach Mike Gundy had an interesting take during his Monday media luncheon. Using statistics to back up his theory he says the Sooners are running a kind of modern-day wishbone offense disguised as the spread. He points out OU quarterback Jalen Hurts is "a one man show" having either run or passed 440 times this season. Hurts, Gundy pointed out, has carried the ball 180 times this season more than most other Sooner signal callers including wishbone operators Thomas Lott, J.C. Watts and Steve Davis.

"They're a wishbone team guys," he said. And the survival of the Cowboys in Saturday's Bedlam game will likely depend on how well the OSU defense can contain Hurts and force him into some mistakes.

In Morning Sports we'll hear from Gundy and also OU defensive lineman Neville Gallimore about going up against fellow Canadian Chuba Hubbard.

We'll also talk hoops the Thunder and Sooners in action last night and the 5-0 OSU Cowboys playing Syracuse tomorrow. All that and more in today's Morning Sports
