The Oklahoma City Thunder are set to host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game Five of the Western Conference Finals at the Paycom Center tonight (May 28). The Thunder lead the best-of-seven series three games to one and are looking to secure their first NBA Finals appearance since 2012.
In Game Four, the Thunder narrowly defeated the Timberwolves 128-126, thanks to standout performances from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren. These players were instrumental in scoring or assisting on all 38 points in the final quarter, according to Sports Illustrated.
Oklahoma City has been strong at home, losing only one playoff game at the Paycom Center this postseason.
Minnesota, on the other hand, aims to stave off elimination and keep their hopes of a first NBA Finals appearance alive. The Timberwolves will rely heavily on their star player, Anthony Edwards, while hoping their role players can replicate their strong performances from Game Four.
The Thunder will need to maintain their defensive strategy against Edwards and capitalize on their home-court advantage to close out the series. If successful, Oklahoma City will hoist the Western Conference trophy tonight.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. Central Time.
